We want all object sales to benefit the Group, rather than one of u personally. However, sometimes when we deed an object to the Group it is NOT possible to sell copies of it. We can just sell it as an original. Selecting the "Copy" bullet, makes it jump back to "Original".
Of course someone will come up with an easy explaination. But for now its an mindbraker to us.

Amon. I am just guessing, but maybe the object has embedded objects or scripts that are not set to 'next owner can copy' before deeding it to the group? M.

Meni is right.
When you give an item to the group, the group is now the owner... and as the new owner, it has to obey every restriction any other owner would. So if you set some permissions to no-copy...

So we should first give Copy rights to the next owner... before we give the object to the group. Thx for you help. Amon and Sevenstar.

but if you have to set the perms on copy etc for the group to be able to sell them , will they not then have those perms set when the next persons buy them?
or can you change the next owner perms once you set them to group?
as you can tell I do not set items to group then set to sell them LOL

In this case, it may be more usefull to sell the "contents". IE create a container (maybe even the same object) that has the object-for-sale in it's contents folder. Perhaps that will give more flexibility wrt permissions. I've never tried this, don't have much experience at all with deeding, but the idea of selling contents might light a spark in someone else
