A simple question that is driving me daft. If I build a shed and leave the walls etc just named “object”, maybe link a few or all of them, and they are returned after the sale of the land, where do they go and what are they called. I have built two shops on two plots that have both been bought and the items on them returned by the new owner but I can not find any sign of them anywhere in my inventory. There were also some There were also some clothes I had rezzed, which were posters containing the items, set with prices and permissions. All I can find are the original items with no price or perms set. One buyer said that his comp crashed just after he returned my items and seems to think that may have had an effect. But where have they all gone?

(ps Hope this is the right place for this question)

Lost items after land sale

My items have not returned to me at all. Not in Trash , Lost items, not even objects. Sold the land to neighbors that I know and trust, they do not have the items either.

Having just gone thru a similar experience I can share what I found to be true for me. My items were grouped together on return. So some were grouped under the title 'object' , others were grouped under a specific item name, i.e. eucalyptus tress, fountain. Some of the icons did show multiple items ( the little box with many smaller boxes) others did not. I had to go thru both my object and lost and found folders and put out every thing! Still now after a few weeks I will find grouped things in original folders holding single objects - i.e. soundscapes surf, whatever I might have had out. It is a tedious process but I am guessing most if not all of your items are there in inventory somewhere.

You should rezz EVERYTHING in your Lost And Found folder as well as your Trash Bin. Chances are that your items are bundled up with some other garbage.

Anything that is returned these days, for whatever reason, can and usually will get "coalesced" into a single lost and found entry, named with one of the linkset or prim names, apparently selected at random.

When you look in Inventory, take a good look at the icon in front of the item name. If it is a single prim or a simgle linkset, the ivon is a single cube. However, if it is multiple items or linksets taken or retuened as a group, it will look like a stack of smaller cubes. Those items are the ones in Lost and Found or elsewhere in your inventory that you will want to rez to locate that real contents.

As to where it goes... parcel purchase should send things to Lost and Found. But if the land owner explicitly returns a no-copy item, it may go back into the folder it came from in your inventory.

My Two Cents

Dearly Darlings,

When I've had to resort to "findings things" I go to a big sand box and delete and purge during the same session using the recent tab for inventory.

That way I'm not going through the same items again and again while hunting for something. I'm still trying to find my Garage for my house in Green.

I hope this helps.

Ever Yours,

Thanks very much for all your advice but it looks as if i am going to have to take a couple of days off work (in RL) to sort this out :-)).

Thanks again, Del
