No, if you are using textures that are no transfer then you cannot sell items created with them. Never buy textures that do not have full perms if you intend to create sellable items.

Yes, Porky is right. These textures are useless unless you only want to create something for yourself. I made this mistake once.

Same, when I was new in secondlife I accidently applied a no trans texture onto a product and couldn't figure out why the product kept telling me it was no transfer, I ended up deleting the whole thing and rebuilding it lol a few weeks later I made the same mistake again but this time realised my mistake :)

If you are in the busness of selling items or think you are likely to in the future, then I advise that you keep all of your full perm textures seperate from the no transfer textures within your inventory. If you create textures and upload them, then set them to "full perms" immediatly after the upload rather than waiting to do it later as there is nothing worse than labouring over a build that uses numourous textures for hours/days only to find out that one is no transfer. If you are in the business of selling textures, then you should allways sell them with full perms.

Ok thanks. I am making some of my own textures, as well as using others. Was hoping it didn't have to be full perm, but figured it did. Building an old factory and "Rezolution"'s Urban Package looked just right, then after I bought it knowticed on the side of the box it was no transfer.

Oh well, back to the insade hunt for full perm textures to make a run down old factory/warehouse for a gun & combat range im working on. Atleast I know when I get home to set my barrel textures I made to full perm, had not thought of that. Made some textures for oil drums that have rust, and fading, and torn and battered warning labels etc on them. Gonna use them, some wood crates, some gas canisters, and maybe 1 or 2 big metal cargo shipping/rail containers. Make some of the can's either explosive doing safezone dmg, or poisones. Anywho, lots of other cool things too.

Perms always confuse me, even after reading the post on perms rofl. Atleast I can program :)

The only use for restricted perms textures is to make "completer pieces" for your personal use on a custom build that you don't own the textures for. As an example, some builders use proprietary textures for their no-transfer buildings. They also sell matching no-transfer texture sets that allow an end-user to make things solely for their own personal use, like sidewalks and railings, that match the rest of the build. Anything made with such textures can never be transferred, by any means, to anyone else.

But if you ever hope to either sell or give away anything that you make, I'd keep any restricted perms textures locked firmly away from the rest of your texture stash, to prevent accidentally making your build useless.

Personally, I won't keep any restricted perms textures, unless it's something like a portrait of a friend that clearly isn't a building texture.

Tha vast majority of textures are sold full perms for that reason. Restricting them makes them virtually useless.

well that makes sence, rezolution also sells complete buildings using the textures, so that makes perfect sence they would sell the textures no transfer as they are assuming you prob bought the buildings to build a city, and want to build a few simmiler structures or make changes. I have a oriental 2 story house waiting on me to finish packaging and cleaning up to sell and was myself considering added a box for scripts and another box for textures set to no-trans no-mod, and manybe even some simple furniture and set the boxes up so when you drop them on the ground it would call my update server so I could update the scripts for any of my stuff fairly easy. Std free updates for life thing.

Cool, I think I will wander over to textures forum and see if I can get info on where to get simmiler textures, and if that doesn't work ill have to spend build time on textures instead.

Tnks all :)
