too many flexi?

Hi. I've tried to create a swaying pony tail for my grey pony avi, and when its on the ground, it looks great. But the second I attach it, it goes nuts. Its like theres the regular tail, and the anti-grav version of it floating above. I've tried playing with the flexi adjustments, but that doesn't help. Any ideas?
