I've very recently begun playing around with Maya (yeah, I bought Maya ages and ages ago to play around for content creation in the pre-sculpty days, found it was useless and uninstalled it). Recently, I dusted it off and have been trying it to make sculpties, just like a lot of other people on here. Now, tonight, I was just exporting basic shapes to see how Qarl's exporter handled them and I ran into something I found pretty odd:
When I exported a basic NURBS sphere to be a sculpt, it comes out sort of elongated - more "watermelon" shaped than spherical.
Before shows what the sphere looked like in Maya. After shows what it looks like in SL.
I'm really concerned as I haven't seen anyone else talking about this, so I'm wondering if there's something I need to be doing differently - I can't imagine I'll be able to make sculpties when the exporter is garbling data like this.
