Hi
I'm building a house and I'm having an error message that says:
Link failed -- Pieces too far apart
Can anyone help?
Thank you

It's a pretty self explanatory error message. Your pieces are too far from each other. Make a smaller build, or link it in multiple chunks.

Sometimes prims go bad and you will get that error message even though the prims are not too far apart.
What I do is select the set of objects I want to link, pull out the old bad prims by dragging one of the arrows, then deleting the (still-highlighted) old copy by hitting the delete button.
Then select the new copy of the set you want to link, and link it. If you still get the error message, then the parts really ARE too far apart.

What Poppet said. Sometimes it may only be a single prim that is bad. It can be difficult to find if you have many prims to link. But, start off by looking at the root prim. If it is a box shape, adjust the Hollow setting up and down will sometimes fix it. Or, link the structure one prim at a time until the error occurs, then you know the bad prim and can make a new one.
