Since SL is currently down I can't test my sculpty cube to see if it works, but I have a few questions.

I used sculptypaint to make a cube, then imported to Wings3d, then noticed the complexity, so exported to sculpty then re-imported, thereby lessening the vertices in the sculpt. However, I'm not sure how this will translate into SL. It currently (After the re-import) as 16130 vertices, which I'm fairly sure is way too many, though I'm not certain.

I'm attaching an image of it in wings in a minute.

Essentially, my question is how can I make a sculpted sphere in wings easily that will translate well into SL, and be able to edit it. I suppose a 32x31 sculpted cube ;)

I tried folding a plane and well..that ended sloppily.

You can easily make a cube shape from a sphere in Wings with 6 flatten commands, one for each face. This won't make the lines in the middle of the faces all straight, which may or may not be an issue for you.

If you want a cube with nice parallel lines like the ones in your image, take that bitmap into your favorite editor and scale it down to 32x32, without interpolation. Import the scaled down bitmap into Wings and you should be done.

Ah okies cool thanks, 32x32..tried 64x64 thinking that might be small enough.. thanks a bunch!

ANd I do want the parralel lines for this particular project ^_^

I said 32x32 just because that was what you asked for in the original post. (A 32x32 vertex bitmap gives a 32x31 face model, assuming you use the default sphere topology.) You could rescale it to 64x64 as well, but 32x32 is generally the better choice.

Yeah, what I meant is that I understand why the amount of vertices seemed so insane, even at the 64xc64 ^_^

I suppose it helps alot =P

THanks again!
