Objects turning red?

There is something I don't understand. I've had a number of objects turning red last night. Thinking it was a temporary glitch, I logged off and waited until today to check things out again.

Today, I am realizing that this problem still exists. I tried playing with a variety of settings such as the texture, lighting, full bright and others, but it doesn't change things. The only solution I found was to rebuild the objects, which is a pain in the ass.

Is there anyone who encountered such an issue and who can suggest a better solution?

When your objects that looked fine before look funny now, it's a good measure to ask another to come over and determine if they can see the same thing.

Things "turning red" usually sounds to me like you have some of the "objects"/"sources" selected under View > Beacons. (This client-side setting persists after logging out and in, which is one of the reasons to test other people's clients.)

It might be show transparency. This makes objects with an alpha texture (or transparency setting) turn red.

Maybe you have the edit screen up? when the edit screen is on, all objects that are physical or are scripted will turn red
