Why are there limits on the distance for linking objects? And could this limit be increased possibly?

I might be wrong but it seems to me this thread is in the wrong forum, no mention having been made of the feature viewer beta grid.
I think this might be supposed to go in in the feature suggestion forum.

The size varies but the max distance is 32 RADIAL meters between all the centers of all the prims.
I say radial just to make it understood basicly from onde side of the object to the other side (including diagonal) have ot be no more then 32 meters away from eachother. In essence you can link three 10x10x10 prims or even 9 in a 3x3 but not another prim more unless you started another row and then it still has to be in that 32 meters. That measurement is measured from teh center of each prim. Now for smaller prims there was a write up but um..it reads greek to me.
