What programs are easier for a new to sculpting person to learn? I am trying to find one with some good tutorials or manuals plus I want to be able to do texturing and bring the baked texture in world. I am 3d sculptie noob so go easy on me.

It's difficult to recommend the 'best' sculpty creation tools for someone -since people have different needs and preferences. If you haven't done so already, you might want to take a look at teh SL Wiki which has a good overview of 3D packages and user created tools:

I think many people start with programs like Rokuro, SculptyPaint, Wings3D, and Blender because they are free. I would suggest trying several tools if you can, before deciding which to pursue further.

I've settled on zBrush for organic style modeling and Hexagon for more exact control of vertices. I've created some tutorial videos that focus on zBrush and the Scultpy Maker converter that should give you a feel for those tools.

Hi Vlad, do you think you could make a video showing how you use Hexagon to do your sculpty work? :D

Ooooo, yes! Please! I'm finding it really clunky, and I have to figure it's just me. A good video would be terrific. :)

I have been thinking about it, actually. I don't usually create full models in hexagon. I use it mostly to set up tricky shapes, like multiple shapes in a single sculpty, sharp edges, or folding up a plane object as a starting point for other objects.

I'll make a vid in the next couple of weeks. I guess whatever I do show will at least help people get a feel for the program.

Blender

This may be overkill... Blender is what many of us use. It is free and totally NOT inituitive. Steep learning curve. Once you get it, it is great for production.

I suggest you look at the tutorials here: /8/75/257428/1.html

Decide what you think of Blender from watching them. Even if you decide against Blender, which may be really smart, you will have learned much about designing "sculpties" and avoid many problems like LOD issues.
