Wow - 4096 is now the limit

I just build a megaprim platform at 3000 meters, and successfully put stuff at 4096. Nice new release candidate viewer!!!. I can have landmarks up there. This seems super.

But when I log back in with "last location" I am released in old space, that is somewhere below 700 - which is free falling in my case.

Had the same problem when I moved my skybox to 3700m... everything works fine except when logging in back to that location. I found that there is a JIRA entry on it:

How is it done? I hear the limits on prim sizes have increased, but I still can't scale anything larger than 10m.

It's not the prim size that changed, but the allowed heights. The ceiling was raised from 768m to 4096.

You can, but you need the 1.20 RC to do it.

If you have the 1.20 Release Candidate client, you can build at over 768 M. Prims placed between 768 M and 4096 M will be stable, FOR YOU, but if anyoneone using the old 1.19 or earlier client manages to move any of the prims, they will snap back down to 768 M. (For example if a friend has mod rights on your prims, or even if YOU come back there using the old client and try to move things.)

Login still does not work above 768 M, and this has been reported as a bug in 1.20. As the OP noted, you appear at 768 M, and freefall to the next surface below you.

A lot of teleporter scripts do not work yet above 768 M. But a sit elevator works fine.

land forms also to 4096?

Does this mean we can raise island topography also to 4096 meters? I have in mind an alpine build that would be great if this can be done....

I would say no, anyway it would look awful with the texture stretched into oblivion, it looks bad at 256 m.
