Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to use Modo 301 for scuplties! I checked out Lovecraft Forests site http://www.lovecraftforest.com/blog/category/modo/and managed to get the exisiting vase in looking ok... its when i replace or manipulate the vase the object goes totally wack! lol I am pretty new to Modo totally love the interface and invested in the Signature Course which creating out of SL stuff is totally wild in Modo 301... but i would love to try and bring in some of my creations to SL but it has me stumped :/ Any feedback or links would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon.

I tried it and kinda gave up when I realized that Modo's spheres aren't really suited to sculpties. I'm not sure whether its the mesh structure or the UV mapping, but the poles of the spheres come out all wonky. Also, when subdividing the spheres the poles are subdivided differently to the rest of the mesh and this just makes the poles even worse. I then tried importing a Zbrush sphere into Modo and the poles were also messed up. So its clear that Modo has its own special way of dealing with the poles. Heck, it's worse than Hitler! The program does have lots of nice features though. I love the image based sculpting. That would be ideal for sculpties.

I find Modo is better suited for skin and clothing creation than anything else. Being able to *rub on* an image onto the SL avatar mesh is impressive. Modo's strength at present is it's live paint on mesh capabilities with almost zero delay, and then being able to bake the texture for direct import into SL.

Sounds like thats where i might being heading with it also lol, the sculpties are really killing me slowly here lol... Would love your feedback Casper on any baking tips?
