Front of a Cube??

Ok its happened to me b4, but im making a helicopter and the seat makes u sit funny, where is the front of the cube, it takes me ages to resize it all then rotate, is there any way of finding out before i would start a project?

In edit mode, switch to LOCAL coordinate system and learn which arrow points to the front and which one points up (on sit target with 0 relative rotation).

For all objects, the local positive X axis is considered to be forward facing. As Ollj said, simple set the ruler mode to local, click on your cube, and see which way the X (red) arrow is facing. If the cube is already part of a link set, turn on Edit Linked Parts, and do the same thing.
