Hi, I am wondering if there is a trick that I have not come across to make things that look like rope. Ideally a rope is something which is tied at both ends, and then hangs down in the middle. Ideally a rope adjust itself when its endpoints move. Ideally a rope can be more than 10 meters long :-). Any rope makers in SL?
My own ideas are (for static rope): scupties, this can look ok, and they are not too hard to make - eg. using sculptie paint arc tool. Non sculpties have the problem that I can not figure out how to make them thin and round and to let them have the right hanging appearance.

For dynamic rope: I am quite lost. The closest I can come up with is a very tight particle beam which shoot out in a narrow cone and has the other end as target. But it does not really look like robe :-( Also, I could compute a parable, and place long thin stick along that, but that does not look to nice either, and would be very expensive in prims.

I assume actually that this is a well known "can not be done".
(tx Keira for pointing out my previous misspelling of rope as robe).

Wait... a robe, or a rope?

I've become confused. You use 'robe' often, but it sounds like you're describing a rope.

A rope by any other spelling is still a rope

Tx. Keira. Sigh, yes. I mean one of those long things which one tie a knot on in each end - your are right, that is spelled rope - stupid spell checkers :-). I have no problems with my robe - as in my collection of dresses.
