Are there kits available for learning to build?

I'm a newbie trying to learn how to build prims and since I learn best by hands-on, I was wondering if someone out there had built a kit/tutorial or knows where I could find one.

One of the best place's in world to learn is The Ivory Tower - Library of Prims in Natoma.

I'm bringing out a pack of tutorials for different items/builds aimed at the novice builder that just knows the Very basics. I would also suggest you search for TUI (teazers university) as they do some very good drop in lessons.

Is there a mailing list I can get on to be notified when you are ready to release the tutorials?

Pull up search, then events, then education, there are heaps of places offering classes in varying languages on how to build things, script, use your profile, land ownership, the works. You will see all the classes for next 24hours or so pluss you can even click the notify and you will get a reminder IM just before it starts.
Academy of Second Life and NCI, I recommend greatly, classes are free, though please tip the instructor what you can afford to show your appreciation & keep them teaching, they don't get paid anything.
ASL and NCI have groups you can find on search that will notify whenever new classes are about to start too.

Get some free stuff at Yadni's or someplace. Take it apart...

Related question: Can anyone point me to a way to build and work with prims that are larger than the ones the Edit/Create tools will let me make? I've done Ivory Tower and browsed some other tutorials, but they all seem to cover the edit/create dialogs. How about if I wanted to build a very large simple 10-prim cave, for example? Or something like one of the big prefab houses, only my own design?
