i have had this happen on a few different occaisions, it seems the game sometimes loses track of the prims current configuration, so what you need to do is "nudge" it a bit so that the game sees a change and resets the prims parameters. What I usually do is select the stretch option, select the prim in question (use edit linked if its linked), stretch or shrink it a tiny bit in one of the directions then put it back to the origional spot. this will cause the game to recognise the prim is now changed, and should be back solid again :)

Yes. FYI - what causes this is usually that the prims end up just slightly overlapping one another. And as stated, sometimes a prim will drift out of position, for no apparent reason. :(

If you take and re-rezz the whole linked house section, that will usually fix the mushy prim as well. I'm not a fan of stretching as it pulls the prims out of alignment and I am an alignment fascist :)
