Hello,
I've taken an interest in Scuplted Prims and have access to Maya 8.5 (though I'm still learning how to use it). I found the Exporters, and wanted to give the Advanced exporter a try. I tossed together a simple scene (a sword, in this case, using 4 NURBS Primitives) and threw some basic (and badly drawn) textures onto the surfaces.
When I run the script, two things happen.
One, it creates a small rounded cone near to the center of the scene. This cone is named nurbsCone2.
Two, it gives me an error that says: "//Error: Object list must contain a surface and a texture"
Beyond that, it creates two files:
"sculpt-nurbsTorus1-surface.bmp" Which is solid black
and
"sculpt-nurbsTorus1.bmp" Which looks like a sculpt map
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Or which step I'm missing in the creation of the scene?
Thanks in advance,
Maeryn

A little more investigation and the problem seems to be with the Cone and the Cylinder that I've created. When I selectjust one of those objects, and try to use the exporter, it errors and creates a deformed copy of the selected prim. If I have all 4 prims of the sword selected, it creates the texture files for the Torus, gets to the Cone and errors out (creating the deformed cone that I mentioned earlier). The 4 prims that I have in this sword are a Torus, Cone, Cylinder, and Sphere. The Torus and Sphere seem to work fine and create sculpt maps and surface textures (though the surface textures seem to be solid black). Hope those details help anyone that can suggest what I need to do. Thanks again, Maeryn

If you don't light the scene, the texture will be solid black.
