Model importation

Is there a script or built in feature that allows for the user to import models in some basic modeling formats. If there is, what model type must i convert my models to and how exactly would i do it. This is a stupid question but i have tons of 3d models ranging form .obj to .wav, not medial player, that are just sitting around.

Idealy, there would not be a limit on the size of the model or the number of faces it can have since some of my models have millions of faces.

The basic use for this would also be for importing terrain models from terragen 2, i already have them in .obj format since i used them in x-plane, then these models would be placed over land to creat more detail. If i did import these terragen models, would anyone elses computer be able to handel it, or would they lag out trying to load it. This is why.

While terragen models may not work, i also have a large collection of other models i have created over the years.

I do not expect there to be a model importer but i may be wrong.

Sorry for such a stupid question

Nope,

Sorry Mathew, the closest thing to that that exists currently is this...

/8/64/110607/1.html

In it's current form it counts each face as a separate prim.

That is why so many of us are so excited about the new sculpted prim techniques.
