Physical Vehicle (car) tries to 'rotate' with passengers

I've made a number of 2-seat cars, using Aaron Perkins scripts, with no problem.

Now I have made two 4-seaters. When a passenger sits next to the driver, it's not a problem, but as soon as a passenger sits in the back seat, the whole car starts to rotate.

It 'appears' that on one the center (where the edit arrows cross) is infront of the rear passengers, this car raises at the rear when a passenger sits on the rear seat. The other car seems to lift the front wheels, and the center for this car seems to be behind the rear seat passengers.

I've stripped the car down to it's main components (root/drivers seat, 4-wheels and 3-passenger seats). It still rotates.

I don't think this is a script issue, but more a physics issue.

Has anyone seen this before and has anyone any insight as to how it can be fixed.

Thanks
PG

Each avatar has it's own mass determined by it's height. try adding some extra prims a.k.a. mass to the end of the vehicle that is popping up in the air. You can also try tweaking the parent prim that the script is attached to. i'm not sure how you have the parent prim set up, but i do know that it could be causing the problem. try streeching it out to make up for thoes back seats you added.

it's also a good idea to add a fresh copy of the script to the final version of your vehicles model. or anytime to make major changes to the model. if you don't, i think the mass isn't calculated correctly or somthing because the vehicle often won't work right or likes to fall though the ground.

Hope this helps. or at least gets you pointed in the right direction.

Thanks Slack.

Just wondering what causes 'Mass'?

Is it the shape of the prim, or the size. Does it matter if the prim is cut or hollow (so would a 5x5x5 solid cube have the same mass as a 5x5x5 95%-hollow 0.5-cut cube).

I did have the root at the back of the vehicle, and moved all the scripts into the front drivers seat cushion (near center of vehicle) making this the new root. The prim that was the old root was re-made so no script affects were left in it. The center of Mass didn't move.

I might start making the complete vehicle fresh from new prims, seeing if it cleans things up.

Another thing to mention is that the height/animation can play a factor in this as the collision box for an avatar is not necessarily where the avatar is at visibly.

The problem you are having sounds like it could be related to the 'hit box' of an avatar that comes lower than the vehicle and causes it to get stuck and not sit right.

Easiest way to test would be to raise the passenger seats up.
