Touch-effect windows

I have built my first house, but I now need a script for the windows. What I have is 2 textures: the normal transparent one, and another with blinds closed across the window for privacy. What I would like to do is add a script so that when the window is touched by myself or other residents of the house, the texture of the prim will toggle between the normal transparent texture, and the privacy blinds-closed texture. The script needs to be copyable because I have several windows in the house. :)

But my scripting knowledge is something less than zero, so I am unable to write it myself.

I have tried the Search of the forums and everywhere else I can think of, and while there do seem to be some scripts listed, I don't really understand what I'm looking at or how to make them work to do what I want to do. If someone could point me to where I can find such a script, and give me detailed easy instructions on how to install it and add people to the list (so I can give permission to other residents to operate the window), I would be extremely happy. I need baby-steps and handholding, but I'm willing to pay for it.

I've got one somewhere; it's a ten minute thing to write so don't pay too much.

Want mine, you can have it for free, just look me up. Find me though because there are no instructions and I'd have to tell ya how to set up the texture names in the prim.

IM me in-world, and I'll give you a copy of the script that I wrote for this. No charge. It's not hard to use. Mine allows the inside and outside textures to change independantly. So you have 4 textures: Inside open, inside closed, outside open, and outside closed. That way, the window blind or curtain is on the correct side of the glass when you toggle the window. (If you only have two textures, you can put the same texture key in the inside and outside spots in the script.)

If you need window textures for inside and outside variations like that, I can custom make sets of them pretty rapidly, in a wide range of styles, and for a pretty low price. Like maybe L$30 per texture, L$120 for a matched set of 4 textures. I need to make a new batch of those for sale anyway, so it's no big deal to make a set for you. I can do a wide range of window pane styles, roller blinds, venetian blinds, curtains, shutters... just about any modern window treatment, inside and out, with baked in lighting shadow effects.

One suggestion also. There is a freebie script that you can drop in a prim that identifies the faces of the prim with its numeric value. You'll want a copy of that to save you time in setting which surface of the prim are to be changed. I can give you a copy when I give you the other script.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

"Touch texture change using states"

Today I posted an example of how to do this "Touch texture change using states" in the scripting tips forum here. I posted two examples for rotating between two or three textures.

This script responds to anyone who touches it.
