There are a couple of ways:
Rez a cube, and set the Top Size for both X and Y to 0.
Rez a cube and use the 'cut' option (this option keeps the textures from being distorted, unlike the first option)

Another way is to use a prism. You rez it with the tetrahedron, then set x and y topsize to 1, and reduce z until it's a good height. They can be tricky to work with sometimes, but texturing them is pretty simple.
