I'm planning on making a machinima film sometime over the next two months or so, and I am in need of a really great build to include in the film. It can be an extremely detailed and ornate object, a sculpture, a building, or a whole island, but it needs to be pretty breathtaking and one of the most impressive builds in SL.

The film will be a completely fictional drama, treating SL like the virtual world it is (similar to the Plywood comics), and making reference to the people behind the avatars.

The creator of the build will of course recieve a prominent spot in the credits.

Is anyone interested in letting me include their breathtaking build in the film under fictional context? If so, reply on this thread, or talk to me in-world. note: I may be out of world for several days to come, and filming on this probably won't start for at least another 2 weeks.

I have a few "smaller than a breadbox" (size) builds that seem to impress people. I never do seem to get around to scripting most of them, but if it's just the build you're after send me an IM and I can show you a few items for consideration.

Go take a look at the sim Chaos, visit the space ship there (on top of one of the buildings) and the temple of artificial life.

Another impressive new sim is Apollo.

Will this film be shown outside of SL?

If so, have you sought permission of all of the owners of the content (not just the build creator/occupant) to display their works outside of SL?

Before taking compiled content off-SL to make a derivative work, you may want to scan the thread about Wells Fargo's experiment with a hired build and removal to Active Worlds (and the resulting uproar) at: /108/11/81617/1.html

I'm the co-owner of Chaos, and I think we do have a pretty awesome build. I'm in and out of SL atm, but if you drop me an IM, I'll be happy to set up a time to take you on the full tour. We do indeed have a spaceship docked on a building atm, as well as over 1K of underground tunnels and rooms.

Might I also suggest the currently in development build called the rainforest. This build will be done shortly and features a mayan temple, innovative amazonian residences and a kill rain forest build. As part of the managment and promotional team behind the island I can tell you be would welcome the oppertunity to show you around. Feel free to contact me in world.
