ScultpySpace - What is "Dimensions out of range"

I tried to import a Blender sculpt map into SculptySpace to see if it is ok. I got errors saying:
"! Invalid Dimensions:(1024x1024): Sculpt map dimensions out of range"
"loading image failed"

Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

My sculpt values are: Ve:1056-1056 | Ed:2080-2080 | Fa:1024-1024 |

These are the same values of the previous shape of the this sculpt which imports into SculptySpace with no problems, but is not the finished shape. The mesh is a cylinder with closed ends. The only thing I did to finish the shape was to modify the position of vertices. No Vertices were added or deleted. If I try to remove doubles, it wants to remove 436 vertices, I did not remove doubles since this would change the vertice count.

That sounds like you have unintentionally created a huge sculpt-map of size 1024*1024. Just guessing: Maybe you have created an image of that size in blender, then baked to that image (unintentionally)?

This can happen, when you go to edit mode, then select another image fr0m the UV-editor. When you bake now, the currently selected image will be used as output for your sculptmap. And if the image size is huge, then the baker will bake a very big sculptmap.

If you have found that what i describe above is true in your situation, then you can fix it quickly by adding another image of correct size (64*64) then bake again. The result should then be importable into your other program.

This helped, but I still don't understand it. The image size was always 1024 x 1024 and I have never changed it, I think that was default. When I baked different sculpties with the same settings, they imported into SculptySpace with no problems.

The default settings of image sizes are for sculptmaps are twice the number of faces in both directions. This is true for the newer versions of Domino's scripts and for the Jass-distribution. Some time ago the default size of a sculptmap was fixed to 64*64.

You always could resize your sculptmap by creating a new image of arbitrary size in the UV-editor and select that image while in edit mode (the sculptmap baker always takes the last in edit mode selected image as its bake target). This is one of the big big strengths of the scripts: The baker does not depend on the mesh size of the object, but only on the pixel size of the target image!

Maybe you can make a simple test after restarting blender:

- go to object mode
- create a new sculpty
- bake it
- go to UV editor and check the image size of the generated sculptmap

it should be twice the face count in u and v
