I have tried to follow the instructions given in
Second Life Info > Knowledge Base > Content Creation > Building > How Do I Make a Sculpted Prim?
everytime I create the object it turns into an Apple. Now I am obvioiusly doing something wrong. I tried to select a sculpted texture from the Library>Banana but it does not change the object to a Banana it still remains an Apple.
How do I do it?
I want to get into creating my own sculpted objects but if I cannot even make a simple example I am on a loser right away.

I'll throw out a guess and say maybe you've been changing the object's texture on th Texture tab instead of changing its sculpt map on the Object tab. If so, then instead of changing the object's shape, you've just been changing its paint job.
Notice when you convert a prim from any other type to sculpt, most of the parametric number fields disappear from the object tab, and are replaced by a freaky colored picture. That picture is the sculpt map. To change it, simply click on it. The texture picker will open. Select whatever sculpt map you'd like to apply, and hit ok. The object should change shape.
Alternatively, you can also drag a sculpt map from inventory onto the sculpt map field on the Object tab. Either way has the same effect.

Yes, you guessed correctly. I did not realise the need to both change the physical shape and the surface texture but have got it now. Thanks
