Hi, i was wondering if there was some kind informative person out there would guide me on how to best use the projection/conform tools in 3ds Max (or some other function, or even other software) to create a replica of other 3d models I've made in primitives that are compatible with sculpted prims. I've succeeded with using the conform tool on an organic shapes like a vase but I'm wildly unsuccessful on things with many edges eg. a ladybug or diamond. It seems that neither projection nor conform come close to wrapping correctly to edgy models. Any help is welcome!

Hi Eros!,
I think it would be quicker to remake your stuff from scratch. You'll get better results too!
But Chip Midnight has posted a little tutorial about the projection thing in 3DS Max. It should still be in the 'Building Tips' forum in somewhere.
I think the only time a conform tool is useful is when somebody wants to model something like a human head and they can't do it themselves. Some might say that this would be cheating, but whatever... Some people just want a model of a human head, they're not necessarily wanting to be the next Michelangelo!.
