Uncompressed import program

I used to have this program that would upload texture without compressing them - Does anyone know what I'm talking about and could you tell me the name of it or send me the link? The reason I ask is that I want to import sculpties that are razor sharp - but the compression is really screwing that up

It may or may not be working at the moment. The 1.20 server code broke it, and I don't know if it's been fixed yet. To find out, give it a try.

In any case, just so you know, your textures won't end up uncompressed, no matter what yo use to upload them. Every texture in SL is in JPEG2000 format, which by definition, means they're all compressed. There's absolutely no way to change that.

What can be changed is the quality of the compression. In order to be sharp, sculpt maps must be compressed losslessly. If the compression scheme is at all lossy, then the sculpty won't be shaped properly. But whether it's lossy or lossless, it's still compression.

Lossless compression is working in the Release Candiate viewers. So, you may want to consider using it. They are on RC12 or 13 now, I forget (7/21).

I'm using it for my everyday viewing and it works pretty well. I have no more crashes with it than I do the current Ver19 default viewer.
