Anyone have any idea, or whether its possible, to show wireframe for specific prims (or local) rather than the entire world (as in 'advanced/ rendering/wireframe') ?

Not true wireframe display, no... I suppose you could simulate that with textures if it's a permanent effect that you are looking for, but otherwise I don't think there's any way to do that.

you could make a wireframe alpha texture to make it look that way -LW

I posted a wire frame alpha a while back here on the forums. I used it primarily though for impact study, and shiny with transparency/Vertex shader glitch I was encountering.
