scripts carrying over in linked objects

Greetings - I'm kind of a newbie, and wondering if anyone knows how to keep scripts from "grandfathering" into other objects once they're linked. For instance, I have linked an email station to my room, but touching the wall on the other side still activates email. Maybe this is familiar and easy to fix?

You need to make sure that the item with the script isnot the primary prim. Then it won't grandfather the touch event. :) so when you edit a linked set, you'll see one prim that is yellow, the rest highlighted in blue. The yellow is your primary prim, so that needs to be changed. The way to avoid something like this for later use, is that the very last prim you select before you link will always be your primary link, or if it is an object, it will be that objects primary link. Hope that helps you out :)
