Objects falling into sky platform floor!

I've made a sky platform above my land at about the 769m level. When I create or open an object there it seems okay until I move it -- reposition it. Then it drops into the sky platform floor, so that more of it is under the platform than above it. I see the TOP of a bed on the bedroom floor. Poseballs disappear into the floor, showing just underneath the platform. If I try to lift the object by the "position" arrows, the arrow won't budge.

Can anyone explain this and tell me how to correct it? On the ground on my land, everything is fine.

The ceiling is 768m. While you can fly higher, you can't rez prims above that height (not without a few workarounds anyway.) Lower your skybox.
