1: Using Rhino 4
2: Make object as seen in:Notworking2
3: In theory it should look like:Notworking1
4: Drop it into the .3dmtosculpt program:Notworking3
5: Ends up looking like Not Working 4.
6: So I take it into photoshop and flip it horizontally(amI supposed to do it vertically). It ends up looking like: NotWorking5

I've been at this for about oh say a week now. Same result almost everytime. So far I have a lot of 3D stuff I've made none of it able to export. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Sorry for your frustration and I can't help you with rhino or the converter you are using. Have you tried the Cindy Crabgrass converter?

All I can tell you is that flipping won't help. A sculptie map that needs to be flipped will have a recognizable correct shape but will appear as if it was hollow, and kind of like what you get with the alpha sorting error. A pancake sculptie will not be fixed by flipping.

Ah, she wrote more than one. There is another one obj2sculpt.exe. Actually a converter, not an exporter. It reads an .obj file and creates a .bmp. If your application can export an .obj you can run this converter on it. /8/e8/182763/1.html#post1505114

When in Rhino, make sure these don't change. They have to be this of the cylinder/brick or you get garbage. 7936 poly 11904 edges 3970 verticies obj only.
Yes this means you are stuck using obj. And there are limits on what the obj to scultpe will do. I suggest you get wings3d and Rokuro from the bare scultpie making. Wing3d is free and have a very functional plugin. And Rokuro in in the texture board.

3dm2sculpt reports 2 objects here, one of them is not supported.
Well, the only way to make it work is using one object with one surface.
For testing, create a NURBS Sphere and modify it.
I get good results, working with that kind of object in MoI,
using 3dm2sculpt for converting.

Made one sphere, stretched it a bit, saved to 3dm. Exporter crashed. Maybe I'm just meant to use sculpties.

Would you please attach the 3dm file here ?
I will try to find out what went wrong, because 3dm2sculpt
should not crash from a simple file like that.
