Floating text problem

Does anyone know of a way to stop floating text from bleeding through walls. This is a real problem a t my mall. The text in customer "A"'s shop bleeds through the wall into customer "B"'s shop leading to an unsightly and annoying problem. The objects with the floating text must be moved approximately 3 meters away from the wall to avoid the problem. This is simply not practical in a 10 X 10 booth. I'd hate to have to regulate the use of floating text, but it seems that may be necessary. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

To my knowledge there is no way to keep llSetText text from bleeding through anything. You could, of course, make the walls 3m thick, but I'm pretty sure that's not a satisyfing answer. Sorry. :(

Moving the camera closer often helps. We've all put up with this since day dot, it's not really anything other than an aesthetic problem. I'd like to see it fixed too though. I'd suggest regulating the use of text will pretty much remove all vendors from your mall, maybe not a good idea!

I've noticed that some objects will always block hovering text. Sometimes it's annoying that it blocks the text even.. I'm not 100% sure what is the trick to blocking the text but I will have a look into it.. I think it *might* have something to do with the texture used on the prims that block the text.. but it might be that a prim linked to the prim with the hovering text can block it.. I'll have a look and see if I can find a sure-fire method of blocking.

Floating text can be blocked by prims, but that's not the answer to this problem. The problem is that a long string of floating text can poke all the way through a 1m thick wall. So, if a person is rotated perpendicular to the wall of his apartment, partial text could still be visible from a vendor in the apartment next door.

The best solution would be to have floating text not rotate to always face the camera. But that's probably not something easily incorporated, since it would involve processing power to render the text at various angles.
