Ive just started to make boots using sculpty prims, and all has gone well till i wear them and then the base of the boot seperates from the top leg part when my Avatar moves her leg, any advice would be very welcome : ) ty

Did you link all the prims, and then attach each boot as a single object, or did you attach separate prims to separate body parts?

Yes the boot base is linked as 5 prims and lower leg is linked as 10 prims the two link sets split at the ankle as my av moves.

You need to design the two parts of each boot so there is a certain amount of overlap, and so the foot, as it moves in relation to the lower leg, does not expose a gap. Think of it much like designing a ball joint at that location.
Get a posing stand that allows you to set the avatar in motion, walking and/or running, so you can examine the join as the body moves. There are several free to low-cost pose stands available that will allow you to assume 20 or more poses, some rather extreme static positions that test joints pretty well, and some moving poses.
