Hi all, I'm not sure this is the right place to post this question but here goes. I have been trying to subdivide some land for a friend of mine and have had partial success. I am trying to divide the land into 2 plots. Is there a limit on the size of land selected to divide, because it seems that anything selected larger than about 1024m, makes the "subdivide" button grey out. I have no trouble if I keep the land size below 1024m. Am I missing something or is this the only way it can be done? Thanks for any help with this problem.

What if you make 4 small plots then join two each and there you have it split into two. My only mistake in the past was making sure I had enough prims available to prevent auto return of my objects and then most would disappear into Linden Bliss. Never to be seen again.

Are you overlapping someone elses parcel without realising? Use "view land owners" to really highlight which is the land you can chop up (I'm assuming group owned so blue) and which is not (red)?

Dividing Land

Thank you Morgaine for your speedy reply. It looks like that's what i'll have to do although i'll have to make a few more than 4 plots,as the property i'm trying to divide is 49,000m. I just can't seem to get any plots larger than 1024m. Thank you Ee for your input. I have been using the "view property" but that doesn't help me much and yes when I overlap neighbor lands, it warns me of that and I try again. I just wish there was a way to add to each selection to make it larger until you get the size you want. Thanks to you both for the help. I guess there's no really easy way to do this.

Dividing a parcel that size usually means you've backed your camera distance off quite a ways so you might be running into a couple of problems there. When I divide sims I turn off cloud and particle rendering, increase my draw distance to 250, and disable Limit Select Distance, and turn on View Property Lines. It gets a bit laggy because of the draw distance but all work is done using the camera controls while the avatar remains in position.
