Ok, I saw this chair and it used 1 prim on either side to cover both the feet and the arm by creating a figure eight. Basicly looked like a rubber band with a half twist in it. I went into wire frame mode and it definatly is 1 prim and it definatly overlaps itself just like a rubber band would.

But I can't figure out how they did it. I tried for hours, and only got out a bunch of modern art ;) The chair is no-mod, no-copy, no-transfer so I can't disect it so I can see what kind of prim it is, and what the settings are.

Oh, and top to bottom it also has been bowed out.

Anyone know how to do it? Would like to make some themed furniture with my own version of it for some of the pieces

I think you're referring to something like this: Sphere, Hollow=95, Twist Begin=180, Twist End=-180, Dimple Begin=0.95, other parameters at default.

Ahhhh, yes yes yes yes. Thanks. Just tried it out in prim.blender since im at work and they from at me installing SL, yet odly they don't care if I install blender, 3dmax etc etc.

But that is exactly what I was looking for. I had figured out the 180/-180 part, and thought about messing with dimple but didn't try. But I was only trying with rings, tubes, torus, and cylinders. Just checked them with your settings and I would have never gotten it.

It was on a beautiful Celtic style chair I bought somewhere, and was just like, wow, that makes a really cool leg&arm piece for the chair.

Thanks again, im a happy builder :)
