Hello!

Thank you everyone for your help on texture glich. I have another problem. My prims wont stay in place after i hold-shift copy them. They keep dissappearing or returning to their original place. Before I just had to repeat the step for it to work but today I cant copy my linked prims at all! After I close edit menu they dissappear...Why does it keep happening?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Have you got anywhere near the limit of the number of prims on your parcel?
Does it happen everywhere even in a sandbox?

Just thoughts not solutions.

I was having problems with this yesterday, but I think they were connection problems.

You haven't got "edit linked parts" ticked have you? Shift copy doesn't work if you have.

I only ask because I make this mistake at least once in every building session.

Just noting that I have had this happen too, for several hours at a time.

When I logged back in later that night, my place was FULL of all the copied prims that weren't showing up earlier!

So at least in my case, it was just sim / asset server communication problems.

Glad I'm not the only one. When I logged back in after a few hours of building I thought the Prim Fairy of Evilness had littered my garden with hundreds of prims (which looked suspiciously like what I had been working on...hhhhmmmmm she's sneaky!).

@Dendre....it seems to be the grid is having personal issues and one of the symptoms is the dancing prim....or the stubborn-won't-copy prim. I work on a relatively lag-free sim and it still happens. Sorry I cannot offer any other solution besides "it isn't you, it's SL".

Best,
~Ari

Yesterday I contacted my landlord and he said that I have this problem because I am using a prim docker HUD for building assistance. Later on, I could see all my prms that wont copy earlier stuck on top of each other. I dont know what makes them appear or dissappear. It could be SL problem or prim docker problem...Does anyone use prim docker? What is the best building assistant tool to use? I simply cannot align all the prims using coordinates..It takes so much time!....

You might not be able to copy prims generated with prim docker if you have the 'original' prims inside, as they were created by the creator of prim docker. Did you replace the prims inside with your own? That could be the issue with prim docker. You also cannot drag copy prims from a linked object with edit linked parts check, or even if edit linked parts it checked weather the prims are linked or not.

I do not use Prim Docker, yet I still have this annoying problem.

As for what causes it? Another SL feature..I mean bug :)

I agree with Ari, it is just random SL bugginess.

If you notice the sim is doing this a lot, you might submit a support ticket asking to have the region restarted (or ask your landlord to do this). And before anyone scoffs at support tickets, I submitted one today for a sim restart, and it was done within 90 minutes.

However, it may not be the sim, so much as network problems between the sim and the asset server. Sometimes restarting helps with that if the new server the sim comes up on has a better network connection, but not always.

(And I agree with Johan that you should use your own prims for Prim Docker... if you don't, your creations won't list you as creator!)
