I'm finding more and more bugs in the building tools since 1.9 but the most annoying has to be the bug I'm seeing with the Red/Blue/Green Circles/Handles when using Local Rotation mode.

Basically, at some rotations, it is no longer possible to rotate accurately 180 degrees using the rotation interface (red/green/blue circles) when in Local Rotation mode.

People please chime in here and tell me if you've seen anything odd with the Local Rot tool since 1.9 ...

( and also who thinks the local rotation should be determined by the root prim ? heaven knows what determines it atm :( )

i usually just punch in the numbers

and its based on the center of gravity for the object

A centre of gravity is a point and has no orientation.

It may well be at the COG but the orientation of the local rotation might just as well be random for all the use it is for anything but the most simple linked sets.

Why do i have to keep unlinking a prim, copying it, selecting it, setting it as the grid reference, when all I need really do is use the root prim as the local orientation?

The current implementation is useless and bug ridden.

And now I HAVE to punch in the numbers, ( where i can, see below ) whereas before I could spin it around in half a second.

Personally I don't want to have to use numbers where I can avoid it, and spinning something 180 around an axis shouldn't be such a problem.

The point I'm making in the OP, is we shouldn't have to have to use reference mode and all the extra steps involved in setting that up, when all we need to do is use a prim in the linked set as the basis for local orientation... ie: the root prim.
