I often see objects that are just a texture with a transparent background, and the rest of the sides of the primitive it's on are transparent, and the object appears to be flat. How do you do something like this? I can't figure it out.

One side has a texture with a transparency (or "alpha channel";). The other sides are also textured, but with a totally transparent one.

Ah, I see. OKay, thank you. :)

EDIT: By any chance, do you have a link to a transparent texture? All the ones I try to make don't work.

The easy way to do this is to set the alpha to full black & save as a tga. I advise making it really small- like 32x 32 pixels to save bandwidth, since it has no detail anyways.

If its still boggling you, contact me in-game & I'll give you a copy of mine.
