Sculpty Quality

I'm having a problem with viewing sculpties. It would appear that when I create a sculpty, and look at it from more than ~7 m, it loses its quality. However, when I look at sculpties made by others, they do not lose their quality EVER. I zoom out past to where I can see them, and they still seem to retain their shape.

Yes, I have checked if the prim size affects this, and it does not. I use the maximum allowed size for a sculpty map, and it still does this. Help!

Thank you

Prim size does affect LoD calculations, smaller prims lose LoD quicker than larger ones. The size of the sculpt map will only affect the LoD if your map is smaller than 32x32, and possibly even at 32x32. Try 64x64 or 128x128.

yes as what was just said.
but i suggest going no more then 128x128
any higher and your prim will be in serious need of phantom useage.

there is one other method i just now noticed involved with the updated viewer.
if you look in the render menu from the debug thing there is a option saying disable LOD
i have yet to test it.

My UV guide doubles as a demonstration on how not to do LOD. If you import in Blender as a sculptie and change the multires level between 1, 2 and 3 you will see a worst case scenerio of how detail can vanish at different LODs. Level 1 is just a flat plane, the other levels will show spikes.
