I have a build, 57 primms, and when I tried to link the last part, got the dredded "unable to link-too far apart" message. So I select the complete build, along with the last part, shrink it down a bit, and link it that way. Stretch it back to full size, exit the edit, and then just to be sure, double check and make sure all are still linked.
At this point all is well, and linked, so I take it into inventory. Now comes the problem, when I rezz the build from inventory, it rezzes just fine, except now it is completely unlinked. Not just the last part, but the whole build.
Any ideas or suggestions as to what I am doing wrong here?

"rogue prim"

My partner and I have this bug happen all too often. We have found two things that work. When we get the "unable to link..too far apart" on items we KNOW have been linked before, the quick fix that usually works is to select all, drag a copy and then try to relink the copy. When that doesn't work, or when occassionally the entire set repeatedly unlinks , we begin linking one prim at a time into the set until we find the "rogue prim". Deleting that prim fixes the link set. (this works for the infamous phantom primproblem, too)

One caveat if you are doing a group build: Ensure your prim perms are correct *before* dragging copies of multiple owner sections and deleting them or you've pretty much screwed yourself. (wanders off to complain about group build permission difficulties...)
