I was wondering... what's the best place for a Hud? I was thinking of making a HUD attachement, but I don't know how I want to design it... I guess the best way is so the root prim repositions itself depending on what spot it is attached to... But what spots do you guys already have HUD attachments on?

Overall, I've found no use for 'center' attaches as it clutters up the view too much.

I find it frustrating that one of my favorites totally disappears if attached anywhere but one point. Fortunately, it doesn't ahve to be clicked to do anything, its all chat command driven, so its liveable, but I can't tell if its on or off. I believe the same is true of others, but I like where they are positioned well enough.

Having it auto adjust to the position its being attached to would be awesome.

You need a "doesnt matter" , you can always move the hud around o.O?

Generally across the bottom, though I have one that's up in my upper left.

What (in general, don't give away business secrets) does this do? What type of information does it need to display?

you can always move them around... how do you do that when you attach to a point and suddenly the hud is offscreen?

I wondered that.

1> Attach another hud to the screen. Doesn't matter which/where, just one you know will attach visibly to the screen. I recommend something on the screen center, even a plywood cube if you have nothing else.

2> Right click on it and choose edit.

3> Use your mousewheel to zoom out. Your HUD attachments will move 'away' from the screen with a white outline around it showing your normal screen outline.

4> When you find the attachment, move it to the position inside the outline you want it to be in.

5> Zoom back in.

Voila!
