my fellows

I have created a personal domain that works with the device.

if you do not wish to make your own then use mine.

please note that i do have a limited bandwidth so take it easy please.

when you are asked to insert a url in the sculpt tool
use this

http://sculptyplus.exofire.net/vertex2sculpt.php/

Does it store the sculpt maps there. i dont mean to be rude, but if it does, you have all our sculpts.

it does store them there but they are all named in garbled numbers that looks like ID Keys

but i would never use someone elses sculptys.

i will most likly make this into a host site for the beginners and let the pros make their marks with their own servers.

its real simple with www.x10hosting.com

just follow the readme in the object if you don't want your sculptys to be available to me.

Thanks Almia! I wanted to just test it out but not actually go through the process of getting a web host. This Open Loft looks complicated but you just made a little easier.

I don't really care if you get my sculpts. I'll just be making junk anyways... Maybe if I find that I can do something useful I will try to use my hosted domain. I do have one but I just haven't used it much.

its my pleasure

the scripter to thank for such a wonderful product is Falados Kapuskas

Open Loft to me is actually easier to use the its expensive counter part SLoft

but if you have used it SLoft the interface to Open Loft would very incredibly similar.

also
Bee is your domain using PHP5+ and the current GDK
if it doesn't then youm ight have no choice but to use x10

Read Me help

Has the Read Me been updated with answers to these questions?

If you have your own website with PHP scripting enabled -
Upload the script or scripts from this tool to where on the website?
Which scripts must be on the website, and what directory structure?

Thank you!

So has anybody actually used this tool?
I set it up .. got my web server all configured.. and it works.
But I can't make heads or tails of how to actually use the tool.
I have KIND of figured out how it works.... but most of the features are still a mystery to me and I can't see how you can possibly really get the results you want with this tool. It's almost impossible to visualize what your sculpt is going to look like when you render it... and then once you enclose the and render the slices, you are done.. unless I am missing something, there is no way to continue working on the sculpt or to modify it further, so you have to start all over.

I think it's a great idea... but there is absolutely no documentation on how to use the tool.. i've been googling and asking around in SL and just now thought to do a search here on these forums.

I was planning on buying Sculpt Studio at some point ... it's a similar tool but much more fully featured and with a very active support community. But it costs L$5000 so I was hoping to play with this free version for a while before spending the money. I may end up buying it sooner rather than later though :).
