Hi I am wanting to make jewelry and have a start but I wanted to know if there is any particular place to go to learn to make MORE.. I mean the little tricks. I have read in the forums about small prims already but, I'd like to know where is best to find better textures, and sculpty gems & jewels as well since I do not make sculpties. I am new to making jewelry and want to get better. Please feel free to send me an IM wither I am online or offline as my IM's go to my email if I am not logged in or reply back in the forum thread. Many thanks in advance! Leinani Dreamscape

Good textures for jewellery are hard to find. Generally, I don't use textures for the metals at all, or if I do, I make myself a nearly all white texture with subtle greyscale shadings which I then tint and shine in SL. For the gems, I search for high rez photos of gems on the net which I then use to make seamless tiling textures. There are some jewel textures to be found at Textures R Us, but their practical value for jewelry making is limited as most contain just an image of a complete stone, with the background alpha'd out. As for sculpties, I don't know of any premade package specifically for jewelry making, but most sculptie packages from the usual suspects contain some shapes that can be useful to you.

Check out SLX for sculpties. I don't make gem sculpties but I make chain links and items that can be used as charms with nice metallic texture bakes.
