Hello Folks

I have been facing a problem with "Advanced Sculptie Exporter From Maya" By Qarl Linden.
I am still new to sculpted prims in world although I have been using Maya for a while now...but still I haven't been able to export Nurbs or Polygons using this script;
this warning keep showing up even with a simple Nurb sphere.

// Warning: line 348: fopen: unable to open file "sculpt.primscript" for mode "a". //
I am not sure how to fix it.

also I am using a Mac OSX, and I can't find the Maya-generated primscript (if that is actually generated) in any of the script folders under Library>Preferences>Autodesk>maya8.5...

and please any tips or advise on how to export from Maya to SL would be much appreciate it.

Thanks;)

There's a forum that already has some information on the subject, you might find what you want by looking through that forum, or opening that forum and using the forum specific search.

It's called the Building Tips forum.
The url for this forum is at forums.secondlife.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8

There's a section on the Maya exporter in the wiki.
wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Advanced_Sculptie_Exporter_From_Maya

I believe you can add comments to that wiki page to ask a question.

It can't hurt to IM Qarl Linden.

Hmm, I see Qarl has a web page about it, perhaps a comment there would be worth trying:

I used this same script, opened the script editor in maya, pasted his script in and hit run, bingo it worked.
I can only guess your problem is a mac related one.

You might want to stick with the regular exporter, not the advanced one. I'm not sure the primscript program is Mac compatible.
