Does anyone know how to make a curved roof with a width greater than 10 m? I can make one of 10 m or less in width easily using a hollowed out half cylinder, but I'm stumped on making one with a width > 10 m (my case is making one of 12 m width). I am replicating a historical church which has a curved interior roof with wonderful texture.

You will have to get a 12m megaprim, look for the SALT HUD at a place called Builders Brewery. Mega prims only come in the sizes they are made, but you can slice or cut them and change their shapes.

You can also get the SALT HUD free on XStreetSL.

Sounds good! I'll give the megaprims a try. I've heard of them but have not yet wandered into that aspect of Second Life. Thanks a bunch Osprey, Tegg and Rolig!

Cadroe Murphy's tools are truly amazing and worth having in your toolbox. ShapeGen is designed to make shapes that are either large or have complex curves (or both) by placing multiple smaller prims along a Bezier curve. NikNak, if you want to see a fairly simple example of what can be done with ShapeGen, take a look at the bridging walkways that Bucky Barkley built for the Jazz Cat dance club on Info Island International. Not only are they larger than 10m, they follow a curve that could not be made by carving up a single prim of any size. If your objective as you build that curved roof is to save prims, a megaprim may still be the best answer. If you have prim allowance to spare or have a trickier curve in mind, Lightwave is right. Take a good look at ShapeGen.
