I built a big box and attached it to me, then I was able to fly around and people would see this big box flying in the sky. This made me wonder, how big could something be and you could still wear it like this? Maybe you could make something like those big spaceships in ID4, the size of a city (or a sim!) and wear one of those? That would look great moving slowly overhead, blotting out the sun. So how big can things get?

You can wear something as big as you can make it.

here a pic of one of my large AVs i get booted out of the WA for wearing the legs on it are wider than the WA central area.

You can only go so big and out so far on your prims though before you end up getting the 'Cannot Link, Peices too far apart' Message. this is when you would employ a follow script for extended large prims that are slightly out of linking range to follow the main body at a given position that tracks you movements like a pet would for example but with modifications.

Well, it's no wonder you're getting booted! You've got six legs! Didn't any one tell you all evil alien tripods have three legs - duh!

In theory.. As much 10X10 prims you can link to each other without getting the "Too Far Apart" message.. On each attachment point..

However, not good for the sim..

shouldn't hurt the sim at all. but would be pretty annoying for people in the area and might slow them down.

Yup, tripods usually do have three legs

Whiiiiich might suggest it ain't one... ;P

That is VERY cool, but I admit I'm quite pleased I wasn't greeted by it when I joined. I would probably have wet my pants and not come back!

There used to be a link bug (still there?) that allowed you to have attachments that spanned multiple sims. At least, for a little bit. Then your client crashes.

Yeah, you need to be careful on how root prims are positioned.
