I need to make an avatar which is three times the tallest male avatar. Let's say at least 10 mt. It should look like a normal man, anyway. And should not be a robot avatar, but a real one. How can I do that by attachments?

Search the content forums here - there's several older posts about making Mega avatars.

There's a free mega AO here.

Interesting resource, but I found no way to make a giant avatar, just mech... can you provide me with a link? Thank you in advance.

The AO is an inworld thing - to get it follow the links from the first page to get the Avatar Toolbox freebies. They're available on the grid and from SLX.

I think the challenge will be to make a giant robot that looks like a normal avatar, only bigger. one reason for Mech giants is that they are easier to make.

I am also thinking maybe you could make a Waldo...that is, you wear attachments that send messages to an external giant avatar (bot) and it moves the way you do...

OK... I managed to use invisiprims to make the avatar work. Being as the new avatar "body" is about 8 feet tall I experimented with limb positioning so that when standing normally it looked fun. The problem however is in the arms. My upper, lower arm and hands completely separate depending on the animation.

How can I get this thing to act normally?

PS: I also tried that mega AO. It looked realy silly and put me 20 feet in the air..... so no go on the mega AO :-)

What I did was to create a lower arm attachment that has hands too. To be attached to "real" lower arm. You must compose your avatar on a stand and to position very carefully the attachments creating overlaps of edges. You can use spheres for joint point in both attachments and partially overlap them. Be careful of rotation. A wrong rotation of attachments disjoint parts.

It is necessary to redesign all standard animations: stant, walk, run, sit, and so forth.

Mega Ao is not wrong, but it is made for a different height. You must redesign the mega Ao animations and gestures. I use HUDDLES, anyway, and a script in the stomach attachment to apply deformations when I login. However, it is a very difficult and advanced technique to create a realistic avatar. I am still working on that.

ok so I have been getting a lot of feedback lately on this topic.... thank you all so very much :-)

My new avatar is doing well so far..... a few major glitches however. I still can't find a mega ao for the hieght of my avatar. It's only 8 feet tall and even though I have it walking around now and all that goodness...... my arms keep disconnecting at the shoulder, elbow and wrists. If anyone who knows what they are doing would like to meet me in the game I would gladly show you the avatar so you can get a better look and feel for my situation.

Again thank you from the bottom on my heart. It warms me that so many of you are so selfless and lend a hand to others.

:-)

Happy New Year!

Just a heads up: I tried out some of my own Giant Avatars in the Havok Beta. VERY COOL! They can be MUCH larger!! And so far it seems the attachment distance is greater than 10m.
