I'd start by getting a bunch of freebie weapons from somewhere like the Junkyard and seeing how they work.
You would need to build a prim knife, attach it to your hand, and optionly script it so it can be used to wave about and stab people (instead of just being stuck to you.)

ok its like i have a deagle texture i uploaded right now its only 2d and i want to make it 3d and people keep telling me i need to make prims for it but i don't know how to make them or were to start from idk what a prim is nor do i know how to use it to make my knife or my deagle all it is a flat thingy

Cody, first go to the Ivory Library or Dreams. They both have first rate tutorials on how to build. Then, once you've gotten the hang of basic building, look for Robin Wood's tutorial on textures.

There are great builders who frequent Cordova, Goguen, Newcombe, the Morris building areas, Sanbox Island, etc. Be polite, and ask them for help if you get stuck, must folks are happy to help.
