IOW a sandbox that is only for "members" that I might be able to get access to? I found one nice public sandbox on private property where people behaive themselves as far as no griefers. Problem is that so many people have left structures in the air and the owner hasn't cleaned them out that the land has reached it's object limit so my building has come to a stop cause I can't even fully rez what ive built sofar.
I am working on a building to build in. Big structure with lots of special features for building. About 1/3 of the way through building it. Got the entire structure done, and some of the special features done. Still lots more to go.

A few suggestions

The best thing I can think of offhand would be to do a search in world for private sandboxes, then IM the owner to request access. However from my experience many of the private sandboxes are rather small. Of course I'm no expert so I may be wrong.
You might want to check what the autoreturn settings are for the sandbox you are using. Many of the public/large sandboxes have a 24hr return policy, which means every day at 12am SL time (correct me if I'm wrong here), all objects are returned to their owners.
To check the autoreturn settings click the World menu, and About Land. Under the Objects tab towards the bottom is the autoreturn settings in minutes. For 24hr autoreturn it would say 720 minutes.
If you can't find a large private sanbox to suit your needs, try going to a 24hr autoreturn sandbox as close to 12am SL time as you can and I'll bet it will be pretty empty. I also recommend using a sandbox with less traffic, as the less traffic the less mess people are going to leave behind.
On a side note: I just don't understand why builders are so intent on leaving these sandboxes jammed full of their stuff?!? Is it just laziness or is it to annoy those who actually want to use the sandbox for what it was designed for?

From: ed44 Gupte Try Explorers Rangeland. Half the island is a sandbox! Not anymore. Now the place is a big cheesy strip mall, and the new owners have taken huge chunks of it and put up god knows what. It looks like any random mainland sim now. I'm not going back there till it changes ownership again.

From About Land
Has 37856 sq m sandbox!
From the objects tab:
5351 out of 11337 (5986 available) autoreturn time = 0 - random cleanups
What more do you want?
Sure it is a Mature island. Maybe too many Aussies? (Look at my sig!)
Btw, this is a shameless plug, as I am renting 2 1/2 K successfully selling copies of a couple of houses from there. Is that a problem?
Not sure that helps, but let us all be reasonable!

I'm not going back there till it changes ownership again. Firstly, as the New Owner, the only Chunk's I have taken are around the edges for shop's. Secondly, In an effort to reduce my overhead of Island Tier (Something which you obviously know nothing about) I tried a stripclub and it failed costing me more than I ever made from it. and lastly, I'm glad you're not coming back, and truthfully, I had never seen you there before anyway. Kindest regard Steve Crowley Owner Explorers Rangeland

I have large lot but not that large we have over 700 prims left and 9728m2. Biggest area is 6656m2 but we have multiple levels so a build like that even temporary wouldn't work on the land unless it was certain height on specific level. Building is private and invitational only thing thought about going the private sandbox route for donations but not sure. I don't want the place full of unattended prims. What size of land or prims does one require to have for good private sandbox?

I have land on the edge of a sim. Right across the boarder is a sim owned entirely by one person. I contacted him and offered to "rent temporary prims" with the caveat that if I ever left anything laying around, he has my explicit request to ban me. Only once have I "lost" a prim there (you know, type the wrong coords in the box and bye bye?) and I immediately picked up the rest of my build and asked him to return all my items there after explaining what I did.
He runs a club and mall, so I build in the sky so as not to encourage the uninformed to litter. I have not had any problems since with builds because I don't have to worry about the prim limit on my own land, don't have to worry about griefers, don't have to worry about auto return, etc. See if you can work a deal with someone similar to that.
I do not go to sandboxes any more, and it's worth the rent on the temporary prims. He's happy, I'm happy, it all works fine for us. You might have to do some searching, I just happend to be lucky enough to have a neighbor that's such a jewel.
