I like the stainless steel look, although it's much blockier than anything I would wear. It is, however, rather futuristic (though almost in a retro way, if that makes any sense - think retro sci-fi) and that's good so far as I'm concerned. So I guess what I'm saying is: good start.

Also, are the black parts that show overlapping the edges of some of those prims intentional? Because if not, I'd suggest either moving the affected prims or stretching them to fit.

Good Goddess! I actually quit Second Life for a month or two when I first started after getting horribly fed up with my first attempt to build an avatar. To me, that is a wonderful first avatar. :)

Looking good, Malicite! I'd call it the Prim-Bot. ;) Great first effort and way to stick with the process and get 'er done. Doing a 'first' anything is always tough.

indeed. if you don't have a good image editing program (photoshop, paint shop pro; cost lots of money....the GIMP; free) then try IrfanView.

open the BMP then save again as jpeg with quality of about 70 to 85

I was gonna say the same thing. BMP's take forever to load on web pages. The files are several hundred times larger as BMP's than they would be as JPEG's.

Anyway, your stuff looks pretty good for first attempts. Nice job.

Ah here we go!

These are the pics of the 2nd armor I made (also) textured. In some of the screens will be my first functional gun course I would have gotten far without some generous scripting help.

Will prolly be my last set for awhile since my creative juices dried out :/
