Why is this in "Build," chad?
If you have a cell phone product to discuss, it should be in "shopping" I think.
But do you *so* identify the company/product with your big towers that you have to put this in build? It seems so. I think that's what this is all about.
As you know, I have a critique of your towers. Whatever their technical proficiency, and it is considerable, there are issues opened up by their appearance in sims because they hog the viewline. Now, we all know we don't own the view, but when a tower just takes over the view from their 2048 or their 4096, well, it's right to ask questions for those who own considerably more square meters, collectively or singly. And...buildings that have nothing in them, just stone curtains, empty space, whatever the beauty, well...what are they for? Are they a service to simkind? Does the public that had its view swiped benefit in anyway? Is there even a plaza with a bench on it in all this dazzling white stone vista?
I'm afraid I can't help thinking about telecom king stuff in terms of RL. In RL, cell phones reach the problem in lots of little stores everywhere, just everywhere, on every corner. I wonder why you don't have *little* flexible friendly stores, say at a telehub, where people just walk in and get their phone and leave, without having to be slammed with a big damn aesthetic huge building experience. I mean...couldn't that work? Maybe you have such little stores, just never saw them.
I also think your big tower needs plain old notecards that tell you the basic reason why these phones have a point. It isn't at all evident when you walk in, and it takes you to finally find someone who has one to ask them, with no voice-over, what the heck do they do? And the answer is: they enable you to talk in chat hands-free, i.e. out of a cramped IM box, in your chat room/lot, to somebody who is nowhere near you. So it's like extending the chat box out. That's all. Right? And...they probably look cool as gear on ppl in sandboxes or something looking cool with gear, right?
You say you will have pay per view and video phone soon...but would anyone want it? I don't get why I'd come in the crashed, laggy, cramped world of SL to do these video things, when in RL it just works better.
Well, you asked, I answered, though I'm sure you didn't want to hear from me at all. But putting out fake public opinion solicitations just to create a fake public persona of being open to public comment doesn't fly with me. If you got no answers here, it would not mean a thing.
